The Heinemann English Zone 2 textbook includes eight units and a wide ranging resource section, the English Zone Toolkit, which provides students with reference information and skills applicable to all units. References to the toolkit are indicated throughout the book by an icon.

Explanations are written in student-friendly language and supported by annotated examples plus a range of activities covering all language modes: writing, reading, talking, listening, viewing and representing. Heavy duty tasks in each unit can double as assessment tasks and students can be extended by completing the extra tasks in each unit.
