About the authors

Kim Cartwright

Kim Cartwright has taught Indonesian for over eight years in both primary and secondary schools in Victoria, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. She was responsible for Indonesian programming in these schools, and has worked in urban and rural areas. Kim also worked with the PALS project in Victoria. She visits Indonesia frequently, both on exchange and as a traveller.

Julie Newnham

Julie Newnham is a primary teacher of Indonesian. She worked and studied in Indonesia for one and a half years. Julie was an Assistant Project Officer and Graphic Illustrator for the Indonesian PALS project in Victoria.

Elise Wackett

Elise Wackett has taught Asian languages (Indonesian and Japanese) at primary and secondary levels for eight years. Elise was the Head of LOTE at Westbourne Grammar in Victoria for many years and acted as the Principal's Assistant.

Soepri Soehodo

Soepri Soehodo is a native speaker of Indonesian, born in Bandung. He taught modern and traditional dance for seven years before moving to Australia in 1990. From 1995 to 1999, Soepri worked as Indonesian Project Officer for the PALS program in Victoria. Soepri has been involved in promoting Indonesian language and culture in Australian primary and secondary schools.
