A famous maths problem

This famous maths problem was invented by the Ancient Greek mathematician Archimedes of Syracuse (287–212 BC). Apparently Archimedes was annoyed with Apollonius of Perga (262–190 BC), who had criticised Archimedes’ work on the multiplication of large numbers. As revenge Archimedes came up with this tricky mathematical problem that involves truly immense numbers.
