What is it?

The Resource Centre is an award-winning resource bank of curriculum-based information and interactive data developed specifically for Australian secondary students. Perfect both for teachers and students, the Resource Centre allows you to search for material by keywords, subjects, and topics. What's more, every topic takes a skills-based approach and includes additional resources to extend classroom activities further.

Which subjects and levels are covered?

The subjects currently offered are Science, Geography and History for year levels 7-10.

How do I use the Resource Centre?

BROWSE - Need some ideas for next week's classes - browse through over 1000 Infobases by selecting a learning area, a subject, a topic and then an infobase.

SEARCH - Need to prepare a class on volcanoes - search by keyword.

Why is it better than a textbook?

The Resource Centre is browseable and searchable making it easier to find the information you need quickly.

The Resource Centre brings all your resources and teaching tools together in the one place - you won't have to put together a lesson using a textbook, teacher's manual, library references and web sites. We can fit a lot more information on our website than we can fit in our books. In the Resource Centre there are over 1000 Infobases.

Web technology also allows us to include special features that wouldn't be possible in a textbook - animations, interactives, weblinks, a searchable glossary.

The nature of the web means content on the site can easily be updated so you don't have to wait for reprints or new textbooks to get the latest information.

We use web technologies like Flash for our animations and interactives so you'll need a few plug-ins if you want to take advantage of these features.
